About the Owner

Hi! I am Heidi Walton-Brown CVT, the owner of BCF Equine, LLC. I have 20+ years of experience as a veterinary technician in both small animal and large animal medicine.  I am a graduate of St. Petersburg College veterinary technician program and  continued my education at University of South Florida in Biology and Animal Physiology.  I have extensive clinical experience in small animal practices in the Tampa Bay area as well as equine experience from Surgi-care Center for horses (now Brandon Equine) and Tampa Bay Downs. My career has also included selling vaccines and pharmaceuticals for Fort Dodge Animal Health gaining  knowledge of some of the most widely used equine products in the industry.  In 2011 I spent time studying equine sports massage at Equissage in Round Hill, VA and became a certified equine sports massage therapist to learn more about rehabilitating and maintaining healthy muscles in our athletes.  I have also gained certification in thermal imaging, Class IV laser therapy, Trigger Point Therapy (TPT), and have studied TT Touch methods by Linda Tellington Jones and I incorporate her methods in a lot of my bodywork.  I have just received certification as a BEMER representative to start providing BEMER vascular therapy for your equine athletes as well. I am also an active member of IAVRPT to stay current on physical therapy studies and continuing my education

As a horse owner myself I understand the tribulations involved with dealing with injury and wellness in our horses while trying to maintain a family and a career.  Whether they are in our backyard or in a boarding facility some therapy is just too extensive to personally provide to our horses.  That is why I started this business.  Our horses deserve to have the best care we can provide, so please call me 813-862-5229 or email me at [email protected] with any questions!
